Love, love, love Hoi An!

You will hear all the deets in Craig's post, but did need to get a word in about this place - Hoi An. Definitely on the tourist track but with good reason. We arrived mid afternoon and walked around a bit and then went on a 4 hour food tour of the city. Such a great way to get oriented not that I'd be able to ever find my way back to any place, but luckily Craig's mind is like a built in map!

We did a little shopping but plan to do more tomorrow and then ship a few things home. I bought my first pair of baggy travellers pants after months of telling people Leading up to the trip that I did not want to look like a bum, 25 year old backpacker...so instead I now look like a ridiculous 43 year old backpacker who wears Birkenstocks, baggy pants and does not wear make up (Robin says "Mom, you look different")...what I have realized is that those ugly travel pants and no make up make you feel cooler and less sweaty and while it may not look amazing, I couldn't give a crap. It's too damn hot to care. When in Rome!!! Even my little almost teen said she didn't care about fashion anymore, only feeling less sweaty!

Overnight train was a 5/5 experience if you don't count the bathrooms...which we have to since Robjn and I are frequent users so I'd have to give it a 4.5/5. Sleeping berths were cool, clean and comfortable. Toilets, not so much. Overall, easy peesy.

We have 3 more days and 3 more nights in Hoi An and I can't wait to explore, wander and continue to relax. Onto my fourth book which beats my annualized record for the past 13.
