The transfer back to Hanoi was uneventful - a much smoother boat ride than the way over. As soon as we were in our private car heading back to Hanoi, Robin was bobbing up and down completely unconscious!
Splendora was nice enough to give us a small room to drop our stuff and later shower and clean up before our overnight train South.
We took the opportunity to walk around the small lake near our hotel. The city really has some picturesque areas, and it's really beginning to grow on me. I love the activity - the chaos becomes more orderly as you get your bearings, and we have met some very nice people.
We just boarded the train - we left at 10pm and arrive halfway down the country in Danang at 1pm where we'll take a quick car to Hoi An.
It's our anniversary like Beth said in her blog, and we're finding we could use a little space... a night out alone would be nice. I think we will give it a try in Hoi An. I couldn't have picked a better travel partner - though the kids have been trying at times, Beth and I have been very solidly on the same team throughout :-)
