What a nice day! It's Bastille day if you didn't know... a huge day to celebrate the start and end of the French revolution in 1789 and 1790 respectively, but more importantly, it's a huge day for Le Tour de France.
Everybody misses certain things at home - mostly family, friends and coworkers. Adding to that - Beth misses real coffee and power walks with the ladies; Robin misses her bed and her room; I'm actually not sure what else Abby misses, if anything. For me, it's riding my bike and watching the tour (at the same time in a perfect world!).
We had a very lazy, yet productive day. We got a bunch of math and reading done this morning, and Beth and I did a lot of research on Singapore and Malaysia which is coming up quick!
The kids asked for burgers for lunch, and we semi-reluctantly agreed. We have been pretty good at eating local, but every once in a while, as we learned in Risky Business, you have to say What The.. Frick. We found a cool place with a sandy beach floor called Hill's Smokehouse and it was just what the doctor didn't order - 6 ounces of beef topped with real American cheese (you have to say that last part in the voice of Homer and slobber at the end to get the full effect).
The afternoon was split - Beth checked herself into a Russian spa and the girls and I worked on project X, which you may or may not see here soon...
We shamefully ate at Ganeesh again for dinner and even more shamefully ordered the exact same thing as Sunday night... but it was so damn good!!
On the way home, we took a walk back towards our hotel and stumbled on a British pub that I may or may not have researched beforehand that carries Eurosport and therefore the Tour de France.
I'm in my element... Bia Saigon and the Tour on Bastille day. Wh-hoooo!
