Another day, another drive. This time to our final destination in Vietnam - Mui Ne. Located on the Southeast corner of the country, Mui Ne is essentially a 15km strip of coastal road that has become a getaway destination for people Ho Chi Minh and apparently Russians, as there is almost as much Cryllic here as in Nha Trang. Unlike Nha Trang, the area has no real city component and is way more chill.
The drive was a little nerve wracking for some (not Robin, as you can see). The drivers, particularly those hired to shuttle tourists back and forth, are pretty aggressive at passing and making progress. That's all well and good if done safely, but there are often times where you are better off closing your eyes than watch a moto coming right at you having a near miss collision as we angle back into the proper lane.
Our hotel is great - I chose one with a pool so the kids can have plenty of cool off time, and as you can see, our hotel, like virtually all places here, is right on the beach.
Mui Ne smells like seafood - there is a big fishing village nearby and I'm hoping the 3 girls will be up for some fish, crab or lobster some night - we haven't really gone for much seafood and I feel like we should!
Seafood aside, we opted for Indian tonight. We found a family owned set of restaurants that are in major cities in south Vietnam called Ganeesh, and the one here was highly rated. Our meal was delicious, as you can see here....
Gee, I wonder who that was. Do you know how many peace signs I've had to delete from map camera! Grrrrr...
After dinner we walked around some of the shops near the restaurant. The area was a little more built up around there than,at our hotel which was about 3km away to the North, but it's still not what I would call a central tourist area that you would find in the cities. The shopping is pretty cheesy which is fine - one more thing we won't have to do on our last two days in Indochina :-)!
