Borneo: Overall Thoughts

In many ways, Borneo is kind of like a "jungle country". They're are so many different animals and insects and many species of them too. If you go to a "big city" in Borneo, it will probably just be a large town to you, if your from the city. Borneo has a different feel from all the other countries we've been to on this trip. Wildlife is almost everywhere. It's pretty amazing to see all these different species up close. And I mean in the wild, not in the zoo. For example, we went to an oraungatan conservation in Kuching (a city in Borneo), and we got extremely lucky and saw 7 oraungatans! The group in the morning saw only 1. We also saw a mother oraungatan with its baby, and this was very rare, as there were only 2 babies in the park! It was so incredible to be able to see these amazing creatures up close, and not have the zoo fence to separate us from them. I loved Borneo, and I especially loved Turtle Island and Mulu National Park. I really liked the interactions with nature and it was cool to see such amazing wildlife and animals. We saw huge insects, weird monkeys with strange noses (proboscis monkeys), oraungatans, cool caves, a bat exodus, and so much more. I think that is amazing and I'm super lucky to have the chance to see that.
