92 days behind and ahead

If I were any more relaxed, I'd be a sea cucumber. We are in Cameron Highlands in peninsular Malaysia and it's a refreshing break from the heat of the last few months. We are here for 6 nights in total without a lot planned other than hiking, homework, eating and (as Abby would say), "relaxment". I'm so relaxed that I actually fell asleep sitting in a chair in our hotel room, and nearly again while helping Robin with her homework. Cue a proper nap! Check!

I've only had one work dream since leaving Toronto which is amazing considering I used to have them all the time. In my dream, I returned to work to a wedding. A nameless, faceless couple was getting married and the entire office floor had turned into a wedding ceremony (perhaps I had Stephen and Kris on the Brain). I saw lots of people I work with, but didn't speak to many as all focus was on the wedding. Since I didn't know the couple getting married, I decided to get my computer out of the work vault (resembling our safe at home) and when I opened the door, thousands of cockroaches came pouring out! I calmly reached in and pulled out my laptop, dusted off the roaches and then I woke up. I think that is more Asian inspired than a work dream, but there you go! I must say that it's amazing to know that things back at the office are in great hands with my awesome team, who do not in any way resemble roaches!

We have settled back into our family adventure after a brief re-introduction to the Bickersons once the Versluis family left. Thankfully it lasted only a couple of days and now we are all much more relaxed. The Bickersons re-opened their fabulous spa and I am looking forward to another appointment tonight. I must say that while the paperwork is laborious, the treatments are quite excellent and being the only customer has its advantages.

On our morning hike today, we reviewed the next 92 days of travel excitement. We have a lot on the go for the next 3 months and I feel like the second half may go by more quickly than the first. We are making a good effort to get a lot of the kids math done this week, as we are really go-go-go for the next little bit after this. As an aside, I'm really wondering what the hell I will look like 92 days from now. My hair is so long and flat and brown with blond stripes. I'm tempted to get it cut but I promised my hair dresser first crack when I return.

Robin exclaimed that yesterday was one of her best travel days and Abby made us all stop and "have a moment" and group hug looking out at the beautiful view from our hike. I need to capture those moments here to assist my memory!
