Entering a new country: India!

Leaving Sri Lanka was sad, but I was excited to see a new country: India! India is a huge country, and, from what people have told me, it feels like many countries within one country. When we arrived in Kochi, Kerala (in South India), we were driving from the airport, to the backwater boat trip, and as I was looking out the window, I realized that it felt the same as Sri Lanka, probably because South India and Sri Lanka are pretty close to each other. Even though it felt a lot like Sri Lanka, the amount of people in Kochi seemed almost twice the amount of people there were in Sri Lanka! I wasn't surprised when I learned that the population of India is about 1.2 billion people! Even though the south of India seems like Sri Lanka, I bet the North will seem much different! It's weird how the North and south of India are still the same country, but totally different! The people look slightly different, (I know because I saw some people from the North on the boat trip, and the loom a bit different from the people in Kochi), and the food is different too. The food in the south of India is spicer than the North, and the south has more fish and rice as their staple foods, whereas the North tends to favour grilled meats and bread as their staple. The South Indian food is also saucier than the North, which is dryer. I guess I'll have to wait and see to judge for myself! India, I think, is going to be a whirlwind of foods, experiences and coulors. I can't wait to explore!
