Day 3: Off to Ena City

This morning we checked out of the Citadines Shinjuku Central hotel (which was fantastic!) and made our way to Shinagawa station where we caught our first Shinkansen ride.

The view from the bullet train was fantastic and in less that two hours we were 400km out of Tokyo and arriving in Nagoya.

From there we caught an express train to Ena City where we were to experience our first AirBnB.  I'm sure the girls will be writing more on Koda-san and Kero-san, our hosts, but this has the early signs of being a very cool experience!

My impression of Tokyo

I think that Tokyo is a very big and wonderful city!

Good things:

-modern buildings
-train systems
-entertaining shows(like the robot show)
-yummy food
-nice people
-beautiful language
-helpful maps
-a lot of train exits
...etc...

Bad things:

-smoking in the restaurants
-overly crowded subway areas
...etc...

With that many good things, and that many bad things, it makes a pretty good city😍

Meet me at Hachicko

Hachiko is the most famous meeting spot in Japan.  Read the cool origin story here if you're interested.   Being back in Shibuya, the young heart of Tokyo brought back a lot of awesome memories.

Ueno Zoo

After having a quick refreshment at the huge Starbucks in Ueno Park, Daddy, Robin and I went to the little zoo in the park. My favourite exhibits where the pandas, the elephants and the seal along with the walrus type thing. The walrus thing and the seal were so entertaining to watch. They would swim back and forth in a circle and occasionally swim up this water tube (although the walrus thing was too fat!). The elephants seemed really smart and the trainers were grooming them like they were horses. The pandas were super cute- one was named Lily and the other was Shinshin. They would just sit, eat, sit, and eat some more!
